My father once told me that the decisions you make in life will be guided by different habits. Some great, some not so great, but one of the worst habits that will try to guide the direction of your life will be fear. Fear to change. Fear to be different. Fear to move forward. Fear to experience far, deep, and beyond. He said, “There are many people that never leave their homes, jobs, friends, or family because they feel secure with what they have. However, as secure as they may seem, maintaining their lives in their same old ways, they become prisoners and slaves of their very own lives. For the person that confronts life, throws themselves into the unknown, and moves forward without the fear of losing or changing, is yet liberated and free.”

Drink and Dive: Embracing the Seedier Side of NYC Nightlife – Hannah Ongley
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010Manhattan’s East Village, which I am lucky enough to call home, boasts the highest density of bars in the city, if not the world. There are lounge bars, hookah bars, cigar bars, sports bars, karaoke bars, dance bars, tapas bars, college bars, blues bars, photo booth bars, gay bars, wine bars and even a secret bar you have to enter by passing through a telephone booth behind a hot dog joint.

CASA Decor: Liliana Leon’s Top Design & Furniture Picks For The Summer
Thursday, July 15th, 2010Dear loyal and devoted readers,
I was sitting at home last night thinking about my couch (the color, the fabric), and wondering why my mother, who has an eye for design and decorating, might have chosen that couch. After a couple minutes, what started as a couch inspection had now become a whole house remodeling and redecorating celebration of thoughts and ideas!
I imagined myself being able to clear my house completely, starting off with clean white walls and an empty space. What colors would I paint my walls? What furniture pieces would I bring in? What kind of feeling and mood would I want to interpret?

In This Week’s Reality TV: Heidi Montag A Prisoner In Her Own Home?
Monday, May 17th, 2010In this weeks Life & Style magazine, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt got their own spread, but not in a positive light (it’s never positive with those two). Montag admits to being a prisoner in her own home. Pratt only allows Heidi to leave the house three times a week and together they’ve only left their home three times this month!
