Emmy’s 2010 Best Dressed Celebrities – Lauren Rose
So this summer was a busy one but now that it is over, I am back in action and will be writing blogs weekly! What better way to start off autumn then to write about this past weekend’s Emmys!
Besides the best Emmy’s opening I have ever seen and Jimmy Fallon’s hilarious hosting, the fashion was absolutely stunning! Most celebs looked incredible from head to toe. Navy seemed to be the color of the night and elegant detailed gowns ruled the show. After carefully studying each and every star on the red carpet, I decided who my top 10 best dressed celebrities were:

Success Machines: A Chat With Robot & Brucling (Interview) – Natasha Vianna
If you haven’t heard of Robot & Brucling yet, you must be out of the loop. 2010 is the year of accessorizing and its vital part in the fashion world is only going to expand in 2011. I had the opportunity to chat with Robot & Brucling about their career, their upcoming collection and their advice to new designers.
Q. Robot & Brucling, how did you choose this career and when did you realize it was going to be successful?
A. We didn’t exactly choose Robot&Brucling as a career; it was for self since we wanted to design our own clothes. The people elected us, if you know what we mean. Success? Probably when our first to-be client shouted at us on the corner of Prince and Broadway in Soho about one of our early bow tie designs, now named Pigalle.

Summer Vacation 101: Don’t Plan Anything – Liliana Leon
One thing that I learned all summer long was to avoid the To-Do list and the check-list of things that should have been done. Maybe things would be different for someone whose an only child and perhaps lives somewhere in the middle of Omaha (no offense to any of my readers), but the truth is that I am a 23 year old Hispanic with about 250 family members (not counting the family left in Mexico, Miami, and God knows where else my family has emerged to!). Trying to get something done when you have invitations to wedding, birthdays, baby showers, and your aunts and uncles homes every other day to eat carne asada with rice and beans can be challenging.

Change Is Good – Natasha Bouknight
In the words of Jay-Z, “Guess who’s Biz-ack?” It’s been a few months but here I am, and I have so much to share with all of you. Now you know how I’m always talking about sisterhood? Well recently my partner of KayTee’s Treasure Box and I decided to do something special with the women we know. We wanted to do something different that would not only celebrate women but also encourage and empower them as well. Thus, we hosted our very first Tea Party, and I must admit, it was Fab! We called it “The Mad Hat-Her Tea Party” and the theme was, “Change Is Good!” It seems that everyone I know this year so far has been making or has made some type of change for the better (I, myself, included).
Everyone was required to wear a hat and they all looked lovely. Our guests included women from ages 26 to 70 plus years old. We had a full program with a welcome address, games, an open discussion and a closing. The wait staff took orders and served us desserts prepared by the fabulous pastry chef Kyla Kelly and sandwiches prepared by my very own Anthony Lezama (whom I manage). Eveyone received gifts from Swarovski Crystals, New Life Nails, KayTee’s Treasure Box and fellow Label Girl Sheena Foster’s Company, Making Moves in Heels. The prizes for the games were gift certificates also donated from Making Moves in Heels courtesy of Sheena Foster.

Cocktails and Christmas Lights: Sex and the City Village Style – Hannah Ongley
When I go grocery shopping, my receipt usually reads about five items long. Of these five items, there can always be found instant oatmeal and coffee, accompanied by the occasional bag of frozen bagels or microwave dinners. Needless to say, I don’t like cooking. It’s not just that the only table in my apartment is outside and used primarily for empty wine bottles or that cockroaches hang out in the kitchen more often than I do; it’s simply that I love eating out.
Sure it tastes good and it’s easy, but it’s also the social aspect. It’s fun. Food is fun to eat, and friends are fun to talk to. Wine is fun to drink. Food is always better when eaten with company and served with or preceded by alcohol, a theory which seems to have firm backing in the 3am crowds swarming fast food joints that would probably be more likely to deter than attract customers in the cold light of day.

Label Girl Hype Presents – Interview with Zack Lo: Ringmaster of Creative Shoes by Natasha Vianna
Q. As a child, what did you dream of becoming?
A. At the earliest age I was attracted to painting and drawing – almost by instinct. My family told me that I was drawing and creating artwork as early as three. And I have distinct memories of my earliest school–they had a wall where they would post student creations. I can remember being 6 years old and making paintings just so I could put them up on ‘The Wall.”
Q. How did it change as you grew older?
A. As I grew older, I came to appreciate more deeply the ability I had to transmit the world that I saw in my head – including impressions of colors, the shape of feelings, and the effect of moods – into works of art that I could share with others. Looking back, I can see that there was a joy in being able to interpret things through art and then communicate directly with others through the paintings and drawings I made.
