In the words of Jay-Z, “Guess who’s Biz-ack?” It’s been a few months but here I am, and I have so much to share with all of you. Now you know how I’m always talking about sisterhood? Well recently my partner of KayTee’s Treasure Box and I decided to do something special with the women we know. We wanted to do something different that would not only celebrate women but also encourage and empower them as well. Thus, we hosted our very first Tea Party, and I must admit, it was Fab! We called it “The Mad Hat-Her Tea Party” and the theme was, “Change Is Good!” It seems that everyone I know this year so far has been making or has made some type of change for the better (I, myself, included).
Everyone was required to wear a hat and they all looked lovely. Our guests included women from ages 26 to 70 plus years old. We had a full program with a welcome address, games, an open discussion and a closing. The wait staff took orders and served us desserts prepared by the fabulous pastry chef Kyla Kelly and sandwiches prepared by my very own Anthony Lezama (whom I manage). Eveyone received gifts from Swarovski Crystals, New Life Nails, KayTee’s Treasure Box and fellow Label Girl Sheena Foster’s Company, Making Moves in Heels. The prizes for the games were gift certificates also donated from Making Moves in Heels courtesy of Sheena Foster.
As we sipped tea, hot and iced, amongst each other, in the shade, on the lawn at a table full of china, we laughed, some cried, we talked and all listened. We bonded. Some of us were sisters, some mothers, some wives, but all of us women. It was indeed a wonderful experience for all of us. Here are some photos:
With so many rave reviews, how could this hustler not make it a hustle? Yup, my partner Kim and I, are now not only KayTee’s Treasure Box showcasing the latest in fashion jewelry, but also specializing in Tea Parties and Tea Party Rentals. Gotta love the hustle…till next time!

Love it, love it, love it
Now you’re inspiring me to get back on my writing game. I was so moved by your poem at the end and hearing the stories of the beautiful women. Words can’t even capture what we all experienced. I know I felt more than empowered. I felt whole again. Can’t wait for a collaboration lady. The best is yet to come. Bravo to KayTee for such a well put together and phenomenal event. I’m looking for the website soon! Change is GOOD!
